Julie Oldfield

About Me

Originally from Derbyshire and coming from an Interior Design background, Julie now lives on the Jurassic Coast near Lyme Regis. This coastline, with large skies and changing tones, inspires much of her work. Her Mixed Media paintings often encorporate materials from the area, such as sand and seawater, giving a unique character to each piece. Julie has recently started to paint on metal, which gives shimmering impressions of sunlight on her landscapes. Extensive travel has given Julie oportunities to paint many different types of landscapes - from desserts in the Middle East to rainforests in Latin America. She has exhibited in Dubai, Cape Town and has recently had work accepted by the South West Academy. Julie teaches her painting techniques in workshops and prints of her work are also available.

Dorset Art Weeks

Saturday 29th May until 13th June Julie will be participating in the open studios during Dorset Art Weeks. You can visit Julie at her home having a unique opportunity to look around her studio, catching a glimpse of the artist at work.

Mixed Media Workshops

Julie teaches mix media painting workshops and runs courses throughout the year to enable her students to create their own of impressions of the environment, using an unusal combination of materails and techniques. The workshops and courses are suitable for all abilities.
